That’s right, I can’t seem to stop taking pictures. I feel horrible that we have almost no pictures of the kids from this year, and I’m prepared to make up for it now. Did I mention how much I love my camera?

So Brian comes home yesterday and says right off “Get dressed, Mr. Buddy! We’re going to the park!” and we did. I was stunned! We didn’t stay long because it was already getting dark, so we took Evan out to eat to make up for it. Brian plans to take us to the park everyday this week. So anyway, there were a bunch of older kids there. They all piled into the little school-bus on giant springs, and Evan was right with them, cause he loves other kids. He wasn’t prepared when they started shaking it, because this happened to him. šŸ˜¦ —>

I felt so bad when I saw it. Brian had Lillith in the swing and she was giggling like a maniac so I was getting some video of that. Then I hear Evan behind me yelling “Nonono, stopit! Stopit stopit!” I turn around and he’s standing about fifteen feet away from the other kids on the bus and yelling at them to stop shaking it. We noticed the black eye when we put him in the car. At least it doesn’t seem to bother him, and he didn’t cry or come running for me at the park, so he probably thinks it was just another bump on the head, like all the rest.

Well before we went to the park yesterday I ran to the post office to pick up my packages. I got the cute diaper cover that Donnie got me for Christmas, and the books that I ordered. I finally got the things I was looking forward to for the holidays. Well, here’s a picture of Lillis new diaper cover, after it’s maiden voyage last night. And then some pics of the kids at the park last night.

PICTURES! December 29, 2008

I’ve decided the easiest way to shape pictures right now is to put them on MySpace. So here they are. There are 150 pics from our Holiday visits this year, and more on the way. I’m going to add some links to the MySpace photo albums on my photo tab, but I can’t do it right this second. I’m supposed to be watching a movie with Evan and going through the kids clothes to put away one that don’t fit anymore.

We had a really great holiday this year. The past two years haven’t been so great, depressing and such, but this year was fantastic. It was hectic as usual, but still a lot of fun. Of course, having my camera to distract me was nice. šŸ™‚ The kids got a load of stuff, and I had to re-organize the playroom to accomodate new items. Evan got a giant playtent that I had to make space for, and all kinds of neat things he’s having a blast with. I had to put away some old toys, I figure I’ll break them out in a few months and they’ll be like new to him.

IĀ  lovelovelove my new camera. It takes video too!

Tuesday: The Dark Side of cloth diapers December 9, 2008

Okay… I admit it, my prefolds smell funky and my pocket diapers leak horribly. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s time to strip them. Anyone who has held my Lilli the past couple of months and held your tongue about how stinky her diaper was, bless you, but you should have told me. I guess it took me awhile to get past the denial. So I’m in the process of stripping them right now, a pain, but anything is worth getting that smell out of them and making my pockets work right again. I’m sorry if we offended your nose.

Suzanne if you’re reading, do you want to go halfsies on two bags of Charlies soap? Orders over $20 get free shipping… What do you use for your diapers?

In other news, Lillith popped out her fourth tooth a couple days ago and has slept much better since then. Thank goodness, it was getting pretty bad. She can also crawl backwards off of the bed now so she doesn’t fall and bump her head. It took Evan a little longer than that, but in fairness we didn’t really have a real bed that he spent any time playing on until he was eight months old, so he didn’t have as much time to practice, or as much motivation to learn to not fall.

Evan is doing really great talking. It’s like a light bulb turned on it his head or something. Last week Brian asked him if Evan wanted him to carry him up the stairs, and Evan said “No Daddy, I walk! Doit myself.” He says “doit myself” to just about everything. He also loves wearing his dragon costume areound the house all the time, and usually wants to sleep in it too.

Monday: Flashback December 8, 2008

You’re never going to believe what happened to me yesterday.

So I get a phone call, and someone asks to speak to me, repeats my full name. A little weird, and honestly, I was irritated. I’m so used to sales calls and how intrusive and deceiving they can be that I was ready to let loose on the person. Thankfully she got the the point before I dropped the bomb and it turns out, it’s my long lost “sister”. She feels like my sister, but our parents only dated and we all lived together for at least a year, from what I can estimate. I was young.

She’s done this once before. She managed to track us down while I was in high school and we went to her daughters birthday party. Truthfully I don’t remember much of that either. My memory has really gotten bad that I can’t remember something that just happened a few years ago.

So it was great, we talked for a long while, I added some more recent pictures to my Myspace, filled them in on how everyone has been, and my mothers’ death. I can’t wait to talk to them again tonight! I’ve got to figure out how to make a bigger photo album.
